The node data has been integrated into the Layar service.
Layer uses the sensors in Android or iOS devices to put Melbourne Wireless nodes (and other things such as nearby public toilets, Wikipedia articles, etc) over the view seen by the devices camera onto the screen.
You can download the Layar app and install it onto Android and iOS devices (the QR Code to the right will take you to the download page).
Once installed, you can click the placemark icon at the top left of screen to select geo layers, and then search for "melbourne wireless". After selecting which nodes you wish to see (operational/testing/building/

The December 2012 meeting was held on Friday 14/12/2012. An enthusiastic group of members attended the last meeting for 2012 and enjoyed the traditional barbecue cooked by Andrew and Dave.
Some interesting gear was demonstrated including the new Mikrotik 2.4 GHz SXT and Metal models.
It was decided by those present it would be worthwhile to hold a meeting during January, so keep an eye open for the details.

The Altona Model Railway mast raising has been posboned and updated will follow as to the new date.
Everyone is welcome to attend the Febuary Meeting, to be held on Friday the 10th of February at the Hawthorn Scout Hall.
Entry is now FREE!
The meeting starts at 7:30pm and runs through until 9:30pm.
There is a strong social element to Melbourne Wireless meetings, including a BBQ with $2 snags and soft drink available.
