Spelling: FrequencyHoppingSpreadSpectrum

FHSSFOSS, FESS, FUSS, FLSS [1] is a description for a mechanism used for radio
communications in which the allocated frequency range is divided into
a large number of channels, and transmitters send short bursts of
traffic on a single channel before hopping to the next in a
predictable sequence.

As used for wireless ethernet, FHSSFOSS, FESS, FUSS, FLSS [2] offers better noise immunity
than DSSSSSS, DOSS, DIS'S, ASS'S [3], but is limited (by regulation) to lower bandwidth.

ProximProximal, Proxies, Proxy, Prism, Proclaim, Paroxysm, Peroxide, Proximate, Proximity, Program, Proxy's was the manufacturer of popular FHSSFOSS, FESS, FUSS, FLSS [4] gear, and their cards
and AccessPointAccess Point, Access-Point, Excepting, Excerpting, Except, Excerpt, Expound, Excellent, Expand, Expend [5]s were licensed by many other vendors.

With the release of 802.11b [6], FHSSFOSS, FESS, FUSS, FLSS [7] has become less popular due
to its slower bandwidth. As a consequence however, it is often
available secondhand very cheaply.
